Event Description

The Chainsaw Operations for Landowners course is designed to provide safe, practical chainsaw training for landowners, ranchers, and community members involved in vegetation management, defensible space, fuel reduction, and property maintenance. The course includes an online learning component followed by two in-the-field skills days focused on hands-on instruction and real-world application.

Participants will learn chainsaw safety, PPE requirements, saw maintenance, starting procedures, cutting techniques, hazard recognition, limbing, bucking, and basic tree felling considerations. Field exercises are designed to build confidence, improve operational awareness, and promote safe work practices in a wildland environment.

This course is ideal for individuals looking to develop practical chainsaw skills while supporting wildfire resilience, land stewardship, and community-based fuels reduction efforts.
